Frequently asked question
+ How do I know if this is the service I need?
Normally the entity who is asking you to provide criminal check would specify what you need. But if you are not certain please contact us for consultation.
+ How many different types of criminal checks are there?
Most government agencies and employers request for RCMP certified criminal check. There are 2 more types; name-based check and vulnerable sector check and you should ONLY apply for those if you are specifically instructed to do so.
+ How long does it take to get my criminal check results?
RCMP's processing time to finalize a certified criminal check is approximately 48 to 72 hours after the submission of an application. However this time could dramatically change if an applicant has had a history of being charged by the police.
+ Who receives my criminal report check?
Your criminal check report shall be sent ONLY to the entity that you specified at the time of application.
+ Can I receive my criminal report check and deliver it to my employer/government agency myself?
Yes. In most cases this is possible. In such circumstances you do need to provide referral letter to apply for your criminal check.
+ Will my fingerprints profile be recorded in RCMP or government database by applying for criminal record check?
No. According to RCMP "The fingerprints submitted to CCRTIS for criminal record checks are only used to confirm your identity. At no time are fingerprints added to a database where they could be subject to search."
